Dianne Brooks (January 3, 1939 - April 29, 2005) was born in New Jersey in the United States. She began singing in church as a small child and by her teens, she was part of the group "The Three Playmates" and recorded the hit single "Shuga Wuga".
In her twenties, she moved to Toronto, Canada and would go on to be part of the groups: Soul Searchers, Dr. Music, and Rob McConnell and the Boss Brass. Dianne also became a first call studio singer in Toronto and in Los Angeles. She toured with and/or recorded with Thad Jones, Count Basie, Bozz Scaggs, Al Hirt, Anne Murray, Gino Vanelli, Bette Midler, Herb Alpert, Dusty Springfield, Emmilou Harris, Scatman Crothers, Ritchie Havens, Henri Mancini, Billy Eckstein, Natalie Cole, Della Reese, Mama Cass, Robin Gibb and Mel Torme.
Dianne appeared in numerous TV Specials and two motion pictures; Paramount's "American Hot Wax" and Motown/Casablanca's "Thank God It's Friday".
